One day, the owner of a car storage place arrived at work as usual. But as he looked around, he noticed something unusual—six tiny German shepherd mix puppies running around, lost and confused. The puppies looked sick and needed help. So, he gently gathered them up and placed them in a car to keep them safe. Then, he quickly called the RSPCA to rescue them.
“When I got there and opened the car door, all six were curled up together on the back seat,” said RSPCA inspector Nina Small. “They were in such a bad state—throwing up and clearly not feeling well at all.”
Nina didn’t waste a second. She carefully picked them up and rushed to a nearby vet. The pups had worms and lice, but thankfully, nothing was life-threatening. With the right treatment, they started to feel better.
They were soon transferred to one of the RSPCA shelters, where they began receiving a lot of love and attention from the staff.
The team quickly fell in love. There were three boys and three girls. They named them Tommy, Liam, Bradley, Hannah, Rosie, and Jade. Just 13 weeks old, the pups perked up quickly in their new environment. Within days, each one had a family lined up, ready to give them a forever home.
“There’s definitely a happy ending coming for these little ones,” said Nina. “But I’m still really worried about their mom. She might still be out there, needing help too.”
She hopes that someone might have seen something—or knows where the mother dog could be. “If anyone has any information, please call the RSPCA inspector appeal line at 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for me.”
Thanks to one man’s quick thinking and the RSPCA’s care, six scared puppies are on their way to happy homes. But their story also serves as a reminder: no animal should be left behind like that.
