Cat Returned for Being Too Cuddly Finds Perfect Home for Christmas

Julia Wood was at a pet adoption event when she saw a black and white cat in a cage. The cat seemed to want attention and love.

Wood walked over to get a better look. That's when she learned the sad story about how this friendly cat ended up without a home.

There was a note next to the cat's cage that told her story. The cat's name was Ellie. She used to have a family, but they brought her back to the shelter. The reason? They said Ellie was too loving and wanted too much attention.

"I felt so bad for her," Wood said. "She was so friendly, rubbing against the glass, rolling around and purring. I couldn't believe she was back up for adoption."

Wood felt sorry for Ellie, so she decided to share her story. She took some photos and posted them online.

That post changed everything.

Wood's tweet became very popular - thousands of people saw it. One of those people was Sammi Schouler.

"I was so sad when I heard that Ellie was returned because she wanted too many cuddles," Schouler said. "I knew she would be perfect for me. I could give her all the love and attention she wants."

So Schouler went to the shelter and adopted Ellie. She brought her to a home where she would get all the love she needed.

Ellie finally found a family that would love her forever - and she couldn't be happier.

"She's doing so well!" Schouler said.

Before, Ellie wasn't allowed in the bedroom. Now, she can snuggle in bed with Schouler every night.

"She loves sleeping on the bed with me next to my head," Schouler said.

Christmas is still a few days away, but Ellie already got the best gift ever. And she's not the only one who's happy she has a warm home for the holidays.

Wood was heartbroken when she first read Ellie's sad story. Her tweet helped change the cat's life. Now seeing Ellie's happy ending makes her feel great.

"I love seeing updates about her. She looks settled in and is getting all the cuddles she wants," Wood said. "When I saw, she was getting adopted, I cried a little bit. I'm so happy for her and her new family."
